Applicants must submit a writing sample and a cover letter detailing their intellectual interests and need for financial relief. Applicants from the Global South will be automatically considered for 50 percent of the scholarships. Half of full scholarship recipients are from the Global South, and half are women.

The New Centre for Research & Practice is introducing a project-based initiative in response to the Gaza-Israel conflict and in support of an immediate ceasefire. They are granting two joint scholarships to two applicants with Palestinian and Israeli backgrounds. They will collaborate on two research projects involving our existing academic programs.

Our guest, Rômulo Moraes, is a Brooklyn-based Brazilian writer, sound artist, and a researcher / PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology at CUNY Graduate Center with a Fulbright/CAPES Scholarship. He holds a Masters in Culture and Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and has worked at The New Centre for Research & Practice as Instructor, Editorial Assistant, and Admission Officer.
