Call for Exhibition Proposals from Emerging Hong Kong Curators

Para Site is pleased to announce the second edition of our summer exhibition series curated by an emerging Hong Kong curator. Following the success of Imagine there’s no country, Above us only our cities curated by Jims Lam Chi Hang earlier this year, we are now organizing an open call for curatorial proposals by Hong Kong curators in the early stages of their professional careers for an exhibition to be shown at Para Site in the summer of 2016. This platform is devised to provide the opportunity for an emerging curator to develop one of their first major projects benefiting from all the resources, support, guidance, and infrastructure made available for other Para Site exhibitions.

This project is part of Para Site’s longstanding commitment on several fronts to fostering Hong Kong art practitioners at every stage of their careers.

Requirements
–        A proposal (max. 1500 words) for a curatorial project, which includes concept and an illustrated checklist of artists considered for Para Site (exhibition space approximately 2,500 square feet). Renderings and/or concrete details about the curatorial vision as it will be shown in space are welcome.

–       A list and description of potential public programmes that will enhance and enrich the exhibition.
–      Curriculum Vitae, with an extensive description of relevant working experience.
–      One reference letter.

The exhibition is allocated the standard Para Site exhibition budget, including artwork production costs, standard guest curator’s and artist fees.
