Since its opening in 2000, Tate Modern’s programme of major temporary exhibitions, collection displays, projects and commissions have developed in diversity, international scope and profile.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of Tate’s ever expanding collection of art from all geographical areas as well as contributing towards the programme of exhibitions and displays. With proven relevant experience, a degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, you will have a broad knowledge of and interest in international twentieth century and contemporary art particularly that of Asia Pacific regions, ideally with fluency in one or more languages from the region, preferably Japanese or Chinese.
As a member of the Curatorial team, your main responsibility will be to contribute to the development of Tate’s collection of international art through acquisitions and research. You will provide reliable and considered advice whilst assisting with the running of Tate’s network of acquisition committees.
As well as maintaining documentation and administration of the acquisition process, you will collaborate with a variety of colleagues and build and maintain effective external relations.
You will also work on the programme of exhibitions and displays.
