Tate Britain is now recruiting for the position of Assistant Curator Modern British Art. This position sits within Tate Britain’s curatorial team, which is responsible for delivering the programme of displays and exhibitions of British art, as well as the care, presentation and development of the Collection.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree (or equivalent) level or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and thinking ability gained through experience. You will have a broad knowledge of modern British art, especially of the period 1890 -1945, as well as a willingness to work across the full breadth of the department’s chronological remit and activity. You will understand how Tate Britain’s work can widen participation and have an awareness of issues of equality and cultural diversity as they affect the work of a major museum.
Your excellent writing, research and organisational skills and your well-developed interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively as part of a team and collaboratively across Tate. You will be able to prioritise your work to meet deadlines and be able to maintain attention to detail under pressure.
