CALL FOR PARTICIPATION FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NEW TALENTS OF ART

Open to: museums, collections, foundations, exhibition and project spaces supporting new talents of art
id.new talents links and presents the institutions and initiatives dedicated to the advancement of young artists. The id.new talents is a day, a growing network and a platform for institutions supporting new talents of art.
On the occasion of the 1st international day of new talents on May 21, 2015 a platform is created for museums, collections, foundations, exhibition and project spaces which offer valuable support and presentation potential for young artists who have just finished their studies.
In the same time, the platform is a growing database of new talents and their supporters. Participating institutions receive the opportunity to introduce themselves, their exhibition program on the 21st of May as well as ‘their’ new talent(s) on a personal page. The id.new talents initiative is set up to establish itself every year on the 21st of May. id.new talents is an initiative of the Cologne arts biennale new talents and invites arts institutions to participate free of charge.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Institutions operating anywhere in the world presenting a new talent of art locally on 21st of May 2015, either within a running exhibition or as a special satellite on behalf of the id.new talents, can participate. The platform www.id-newtalents.com communicates and connects all those individual institutions and their programs during this day.
WHO IS A NEW TALENT?
new talents of art are young professional artists, working on a high level, who completed their studies within the past three years. They will be suggested by art professionals, as museum directors, curators or ceo’s of foundations.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
1) Either a participating institution chooses at least one new talent of art from their environment and presents this talent by showcasing recent work(s) of him/her within the institution during 21st of May 2015.
2) Or a participating institution chooses early works of at least one well-established artist from their own collection, works that have been produced by this artist during his or her ‘new talent’ period, three years after his or her graduation, and showcases them within the institution during 21st of May 2015.
Presenting one or several new talents is of one institutions’ own choice and responsibility. This day is set up to draw on available resources such as art works and infrastructures in order to prevent extra costs and to mainly promote, connect and foster the visibility of institutions supporting young artists on a worldwide level – and thereby to promote new talents of arts. Whether the presentation of one or several new talents takes place in a comprehensive exhibition, on a solo or group exhibition especially set up on behalf of the id.new talents or as an additional showcase of, for instance, one work on the 21st of May, is an institutions’ individual choice.

Deadline for submissions for 2015 is Friday, 8th of May 2015. This call for applications is ongoing. Regarding the id.nt 2015, we can only consider applications submitted before May 8th, 2015. id.new talents is an initiative of the new talents biennale cologne. new talents – biennale cologne is the future platform for artistic and creative professionals from the fields of fine arts, film, composing, design and choreography. It is a project of the FUHRWERKSWAAGE Kunstraum e.V. and takes place every two years in Cologne, Germany.
