Salary: $70,018 – $85,098 /yearly
SFO Museum, accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1999, produces approximately forty exhibitions annually on themes of art, history, science, and culture, and features over twenty galleries throughout the Airport. The Museum also holds a permanent collection of over 100,000 objects related to the history of commercial aviation.

SFO Museum seeks an experienced curator to be part of a team responsible for developing, selecting objects, researching, writing, and producing aviation exhibitions. This individual will also research and write about objects in the permanent aviation collection for cataloging; identify and research objects for acquisition and collection development in all media including the development, preservation, and utilization of aviation film and media collection; create related cross-platform audiovisual content and exhibition; and perform other curatorial duties.
Ideal candidate will meet the job requirements and have knowledge and interest in commercial aviation history; knowledge in museum collection management and exhibition production processes; knowledge and experience with film media preservation and film production including storyboarding, directing, editing, interviewing; knowledge and experience in educational programming; experience with website design and social media platforms; strong writing and communication skills and ability to multitask and problem solve.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in the fine arts, art history, decorative arts, design, history, library science, museum studies, natural history, science, technology, or other closely related disciplines; AND
- Five (5) years of museum experience.
