Curatorial Affairs Intern
The Jewish Museum is seeking an intern to assist with the preparation of a museum exhibition on Soviet photography and film from the 1920s and 1930s. Under the supervision of the Senior Curator, the intern will assist with exhibition research and daily museum business, including drafting correspondence and assisting with other administrative duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to pursue a career in Curatorial Affairs.
The intern will receive a museum identification card that allows for free admission to other museums and various discounts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exhibition-Related
• Various project related to Soviet photography from the 1920s and 1930s
• Organize pictorial material
• Collect and organize catalog materials
• Perform library research
Administrative Support
• General administration support in conjunction with the exhibition
• Update and maintain presentation materials
• Update and maintain checklists, mailing lists, document installation lists and invitation lists
REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational and clerical skills
• Experience with library research
• Strong attention to detail
• Applicants who possess a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Art History or Museum Studies preferred
