Dia Art Foundation’s Curatorial Department seeks a graduate student for a Curatorial Research Internship (volunteer-basis) from September 2012-May 2013. Dia will consider applicants enrolled in a graduate-level art history program preferably with a focus in postwar art and who demonstrate exceptional research and writing skills, as well as a strong interest in contemporary art.
The Curatorial Research Intern will work directly with Dia’s curator and curatorial associate to conduct extensive bibliographic and biographical research associated with artists in Dia’s collection, upcoming exhibitions and publications. Primary responsibilities will also include assisting with administrative work in the context of curatorial functions such as assist with data entry, collection records, general curatorial inquiries, as well as maintaining the department’s digital and physical archive. Conducts weekly visits to local libraries and assists with related inquiries from the public and scholars. Reports to curatorial associate.
The hours of this unpaid internship are a minimum of 2 days per week, 10am-6pm, at 535 West 22nd Street in New York City.
