As a member of Tate Modern’s senior management team reporting to Frances Morris (Director, Tate Modern), you will provide strategic leadership and management to the Curatorial department. You will lead the development of Tate’s collection of International Art through acquisitions, gifts and bequests as well as leading a team of curators, planning and supervising the International Acquisitions’ Strategy including the research and advisory roles associated with the International Art collection.
Recognised for your artistic vision and innovation surrounding collecting modern and contemporary art within a global museum context, you will have a broad knowledge of and interest in modern and contemporary global practices across all media including live art, performance and film. You will also possess significant experience in making exhibitions, large and small and of exploring innovative exhibition strategies.
You will be able to combine your curatorial flair with excellent operational and leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively and make an effective contribution to a senior management team. With an inclusive leadership style, you will possess the ability to inspire your colleagues, share your expertise and motivate and support the development of our curatorial team. International in your outlook, the ability to speak more than one language would also be an advantage.
