Frieze Foundation is seeking an experienced curator. London
Requirement: Part-time two-year contract, renewed on annual basis
Location: London
Frieze Foundation requires an experienced curator to devise and programme Frieze Projects, Frieze Film and select and produce the Emdash award. The Curator will have sole responsibility to deliver a high-profile and innovative art programme at Frieze London. The role follows on from the critically acclaimed platform initiated by Polly Staple and continued by Neville Wakefield and most recently with Sarah McCrory.
Person specification:
• At least five years experience working in the visual arts
• Proven experience of managing complex exhibition productions and commissions with contemporary artists, including site specific commissions and film projects
• An understanding of the opportunities and parameters of working in a fair context
• Excellent written, editing and presentation skills
• Ability to support applications for major funding grants
• Understanding of relationship management with key stakeholders including: collaborating institutions, public-funding bodies, sponsors and press
• Have existing relationships with both established and emerging artists working world-wide
• Proven ability to work to deadlines and budget
The position is based in London. The Curator is supported by a part-time Project Manager and the full production / art fair team.
