Fellowship Opportunities
The Walker Art Center is pleased to offer two new Interdisciplinary Fellowship opportunities. These fellowships help support the Walker’s goal to encourage greater leadership in this area and to develop a new generation of curatorial and scholarly talent engaged with the challenges and evolving standards for collecting, documenting, archiving, and presenting interdisciplinary work across gallery, stage, and site.
The Performing Arts Interdisciplinary Fellow will gain direct experience in the area of production, with emphasis placed upon the curating, developing, and managing of hybrid works, and the conceptual, technical, spatial, financial, developmental/rehearsal, collaborative/collective, audience/outreach, and other concerns required for the successful realization of these projects.
The Visual Arts Interdisciplinary Fellow will work on focused projects dedicated to the research, documentation, preservation, and presentation of performance and interdisciplinary work here at the Walker. In particular, this individual will support the further development of new systems for presenting and displaying materials from the Walker Archives and permanent collection; gain experience in curating, developing, and managing hybrid works; develop new scholarship around the Walker’s own history in this arena; develop new models for future presentations; and provide curatorial support for upcoming cross-disciplinary projects.
