International Call: Curator-in-Residence in Salzburg

The Salzburger Kunstverein announces its new Curator-in-Residence Program. In partnership with the City of Salzburgs Artist in Residence Program, this program offers a studio-apartment in the historic Künstlerhaus in central Salzburg to curators for one month. An extension of 2 weeks in a partner residency in nearby Flachau is also possible. The dates in the studio in Salzburg are December 4th  2017 to January 8th  2018 and January 8th  to 22nd, 2018 (extension).

The aim of this residency program is to spur curatorial research and discourse in Salzburg. Resident curators may develop a project in partnership with the Salzburger Kunstverein and / or Salzburg City, or conduct research or writing pertinent to their interests. A stipend is provided along with the fully equipped studio-apartment.

Applications will be reviewed by a jury according to the quality of the proposal and the suitability of candidates. Deadline for submissions: September 8th, 2017. Only the successful candidate will be contacted.

The Salzburger Kunstverein is one of Central Europe’s leading contemporary art organisations. Founded in 1844 and housed in the historic Künstlerhaus, the Salzburger Kunstverein organises 11 exhibitions per year and manages 21 studios including two residency programs. The Director is Séamus Kealy.
