Manager of Public Programs

Overview: Gagosian seeks a full-time Manager of Public Programs to join the New York team. The role involves developing and producing dynamic, engaging artist- and client-focused programs across all New York galleries.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce dynamic artist- and client-focused programs, including performances, film screenings, and talks.
  • Oversee logistics for in-person programs, liaising with vendors, preparing run-of-shows, and managing event setups and strikes.
  • Create and maintain program budgets, tracking invoices internally.
  • Coordinate with colleagues, artists, speakers, participants, and collaborators on program logistics.
  • Develop program content with contributors and draft contributor releases.
  • Prepare marketing materials, draft copy for webpages, Eventbrite pages, and social channels, and work with marketing and press departments to boost program attendance.
  • Coordinate program staffing and supervise events, acting as the onsite point person for contributors, vendors, and attendees.
  • Communicate timelines and guidelines for events to internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee technical logistics, manage sound checks, and liaise with videographers and sound engineers.
  • Develop guest lists with the Director of Public Programs and manage invitation lists for targeted outreach.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on programs, liaising with the online sales team and sending post-program data to appropriate departments.
  • File and archive program materials, including invitations, guest lists, and budget spreadsheets.
  • Work with the video team on editing program recordings and liaise with artists and speakers on edits.
  • Maintain partnerships with external performance arts, film, and music organizations.
  • Conduct ongoing research into contributors, collaborators, partners, and venues.

Qualifications:

  • Long-term interest in a career within Public Programs.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with A/V setup is helpful but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Professionalism and discretion.
  • Proactive planning ability with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products, Eventbrite, and Zoom.

Position Type: Full-Time/Regular position. Monday–Friday, 9:30am–6pm, on-site with additional hours required for programs, openings, and events.

Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually
