Programme Curator; Residencies – Mat cover, fixed term

Part Time fixed term contract, up to 14 months from November 2019 – January 2021

Contract: Part Time, fixed term maternity cover (November/December 19 – January 2021)

Hours of Work: Working hours are 20 hours per week (2.5 days) including one hours’ unpaid lunch break. Alternating three days one week, two the next. 

Salary: £30,000 per annum pro-rata  

The Camden Arts Centre is looking for a talented Programme Curator; Residencies. This position is a maternity cover, fixed term role for up to 14 months from the end of November 2019 to January 2021.

The primary function of this post is to coordinate and deliver a fully integrated programme of artist residencies and projects in consultation with the Programme Team. We aim to provide support, space and resources for artists to develop new work and research, take risks, increase their visibility and networks, and build a relationship with the institution and curatorial team that supports their future careers and artistic pathways. 

In addition, the post holder will on occasion work with the Programme Curator: Exhibitions where residencies have an exhibitions element such as the Ceramics Fellowship residencies; with the Programme Curator: Public Programmes for opportunities to share their work through open studio events; and with the Education Team and Ceramics Technician to develop cross-programme collaboration with our work with Higher Education institutions. 

The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience of programming and coordination of artist-led events and/or residencies, preferably in a gallery or museum, and a minimum of two years experience on working with artists on long-term projects.  You will have passion for, and a strong understanding of, contemporary art, art history and current issues pertinent to the sector.  Please download the Application Pack for the full job description and further information about this vacancy.
