We are looking to appoint an experienced Training Programme Manager to deliver our work-based skills training programme. Skills for the Future is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund up to June 2014 and provides 27 x 18-month traineeships in Collection Care departments at Tate’s London sites. The focus is on increasing the diversity of our workforce and filling skills gaps in areas where there is currently no formal training available in the UK. The first cohort of trainees started at Tate in 2011.

You will work with colleagues in Collection Care and HR, as well as external partners, professional bodies and training providers, to manage this successful programme and ensure that lessons learned from this project are disseminated and have an impact throughout the organisation.

Passionate about diversity and workforce development, you’ll have a proven track record in delivering work-based learning or vocational training programmes and your experience will have been gained from running apprenticeships, graduate trainee schemes or workforce development activities.

You’ll have experience in monitoring budgets and evaluating projects to assess impact against strategic objectives. Knowledge of formal accreditation, national occupational standards and quality frameworks would also be an advantage.

With a commitment to the principles of diversity and an understanding of recruitment issues, you’ll work with Tate’s HR staff and external partners to work towards the diversity targets agreed with the funder.

Your excellent communication skills and ability to engage people at all levels will enable you to provide support to both trainees and managers as the programme is delivered.
