The Dorset Curatorial Fellow
The National Gallery`s Curatorial Fellowships are recognised internationally as an important curatorial training programme, enabling individuals to build a career in the museums and galleries sector and to further their knowledge of historic European paintings and the history of art. The Dorset Curatorial Fellowship is a 22-month placement, starting in Autumn 2019, that focusses specifically on European art, 1600-1800.
Reporting to a Senior Collection Curator, the Dorset Curatorial Fellow will be involved in a full range of curatorial practice and will have the opportunity to work on at least one special project, including loan exhibitions scheduled for 2020 and 2021.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate or Masters degree which incorporates a substantial thesis involving original research in the field of European painting 1600-1800.
