Curator, Design and Architecture (Ref:19076)

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for Associate Curator, Design and Architecture)
You will be responsible for:
- contributing to the development of the museum’s collection strategy and acquisition programme in the area of Design and Architecture;
- developing and overseeing exhibitions and other projects related to Design and Architecture and collaborating with other multi-disciplinary teams within the museum;
- contributing to the general development of M+, including expanding knowledge around M+’s collections, proposing exhibitions and public programme, implementing aspects of the museum building’s design and other initiatives;
- building and maintaining professional relations with a network of individuals, institutions and organisations that M+ can develop partnerships in the area of research, exhibitions or public programme; and
- performing other ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.
You should:
- possess a recognised university degree relevant to Design and Architecture disciplines;
- have at least 10 years of relevant research and curatorial experience in the field of Design and / or Architecture discourse and knowledge production;
- possess in-depth knowledge of the histories and current state of design and / or architecture in Asia, with an active area of a developed subject and interest;
- have relevant international networks and knowledge of other museums, institutions and organisations; and
- possess excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, and preferably Chinese and/or another Asian language.
