NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, is a research centre of the Nanyang Technological University, located within Gillman Barracks art gallery cluster. Its unique set of spaces is designed to focus on contemporary art-making processed through three main areas: International Exhibitions of Contemporary Art, Public Programmes and Artist Residencies.

NTU CCA Singapore positions itself as a centre for critical discourse and experimental practices for Singapore, the region and beyond. It aims to play an active role within the local art scene, and contribute to the development of regional and international art infrastructures.

NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore invites applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Curator, Exhibitions to join the curatorial team of NTU CCA.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day implementation of the exhibition plan
  • Contribute to the research, development and presentation of new exhibitions and projects
  • Collaborate with the Founding Director, Deputy Director and other staff in the creation of interpretative materials, publicity materials and public programmes for a variety of audiences
  • Manage international and traveling projects; exhibition and partnership proposals and exhibition agreements.
  • Prepare and monitor exhibition budgets and expenses
  • Conduct original research, negotiate with artists and lending institutions and supervise installations
  • Facilitate and conduct tours and organising workshops
  • Manage and direct the work of curatorial assistants and young professional trainees

Qualifications:

  • Minimum graduate degree in curatorial studies, arts management, art history, humanities, contemporary art or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant curatorial experience
  • Working experience in programming for outreach/education addressing diverse audiences
  • Proficient in MS Office, Dropbox, Wordpress, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to work independently, as a team and within a fast paced environment
  • Experience working in diverse cultures

This is a one-year contract. Extension of contract will be dependable on funding.
