The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases the exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7 600 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations.

You will be responsible for:
- assisting in researching and implementing pre-opening exhibitions and public programmes to create awareness from the local, regional and global attention to the HKPM;
- assisting in content development and conduct academic research for preparation of write-ups for museum exhibitions, publications and other public programmes;
- providing bilingual translation support related to curatorial materials, publications and promotion materials;
- assisting in coordinating with the Palace Museum and other reputative museums on matters related to the arrangement of displaying their collections in the HKPM’s standing and special exhibitions, as well as other collaborations on research and curatorial matters;
- providing guided tours for exhibitions or other public programmes when required;
- maintaining curatorial documentation in a systematic manner; and
- performing other duties as assigned by supervisor when deemed necessary.
You should:
- possess a recognised university degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Chinese History, Cultural Studies, Museum Studies or other relevant fields;
- have preferably 1 to 3 years of experience in academic research, planning and / or implementing exhibitions, or exhibition publications in museums or other comparable institutions;
- have good knowledge of Chinese arts, art history or history;
- possess translation skills between Chinese and English is a definite asset;
- showcase strong research and communication skills to convey ideas to a wide range of audiences;
- possess a collaborative mindset, and ability to work in a fast-moving dynamic environment; and
- be proficient in written and spoken English, preferably with knowledge of Cantonese and Putonghua, or any other second language.
