SGSAH Assistant Digital Curator x2
Job purpose
To curate digital content from the SGSAH PhD community for an online Research Showcase and assist with the creation and promotion of digital content more broadly for SGSAH.
Main duties and responsibilities
Curate content for SGSAH’s online Research Showcases and online exhibitions (images, audio and text.)
Support efforts to promote new and existing digital resources to attract new audiences and better reach existing audiences, including development of a SGSAH publishing platform.
Liaise with SGSAH team to support the development and implementation of a Digital Collections Strategy in order to better link the work of the national graduate school.
Work closely with the Media and Communication administrator to develop social media content to promote SGSAH in the arts & humanities more widely.
Ensure all digital information is accurate and current, and compliant with copyright legislation.
Liaise regularly with the SGSAH team on content planning.

Job Features
Build the SGSAH digital showcase brand and develop content on a weekly basis.
Liaise with colleagues across Scottish HEIs to identify and source potential digital content.
Submit a written report at the end of employment and complete a handover with the incoming Digital Curator.
Customers – prospective and current students (around 1,800 arts and humanities doctoral researchers across Scotland); researchers more widely; professions beyond academia with an interest in research in the arts & humanities.
Planning and Organising
Planning showcase themes and content to align with SGSAH activity over a three to six-month horizon.
Decision Making
Deciding how best to respond to staff, doctoral students and partner organisations and sending out appropriate information or redirecting.
Making decisions relating to content, branding and design within agreed parameters.

Eligibility
This post is open to doctoral researchers in the Arts & Humanities, enrolled at an SGSAH member HEI. The appointed Digital Curator will report to the Partnerships and Placements Manager of SGSAH. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we expect the postholder to work remotely.
Application Process Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview and asked to do a short task in advance. Interviews will be undertaken in January 2021. Terms and conditions The two positions are 5 hours per week for 6 months. Salary will be paid on an hourly rate equivalent to scale point 11 on the University of Glasgow Grade 4. One post will cover 1 February 2021 – 31 July 2021 and the other 1 August 2021 – 31 January 2022.
Standard Terms and Conditions
Salary will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 4, £19,612 – £22,417 per annum, pro rata.
These posts (2) are part time (5 hours per week) and are fixed term for 1 year from start date – one post will cover 1 February 2021 – 31 July 2021 and the other 1 August 2021 – 31 January 2022.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
The successful candidate will be eligible to join the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) Pension Scheme.
