The position
The Senior Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art is responsible for supporting transformation of the National Gallery’s artistic programs and curatorial initiatives. You will be a dynamic curator, with the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and to build a robust and professional team culture. You require deep expertise and experience in research, interpretation, collection development and exhibition presentation.
You will have substantial experience working with art, artists, collections and communities with an outstanding track record of exhibitions and publishing. To succeed you will be creative by nature and an experienced collaborator, driven by a desire to make a major impact on the visual arts and the First Nations cultural landscape in Australia and internationally.
The position will be filled using the Affirmative Measure, which allows for the targeted recruitment of Indigenous Australians.
