The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture; the collection is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. With around 2 million visitors each year prior to temporary closure for the Inspiring People project and a strong national and international presence through touring exhibitions and special projects, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries.
Inspiring People Activity Plan Coordinator
£23,000 per annum
Full time, 35 hours (5 days) per week
Fixed Term for 18 months
Home and site based (1 day per week)
We are seeking an ambitious project assistant to provide administrative support to the Inspiring People project and its key stakeholders, including the Inspiring People Project Director and the Director of Learning and Participation. The role involves arranging all project meetings and workshops, data collation for the NLHF, financial administration and reporting in addition to providing administrative support for the Activity Plan, including interpretation and content development activity with Learning and Curatorial teams, travel booking and events planning.
To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in administration and project management, ideally in a museum or gallery. You will be confident in supporting senior leaders, managing events and will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders and complete a high volume, varied workload.
The role offers excellent opportunity for exposure to the development of a major capital project at an exciting period within the Gallery’s history.
