Landesmuseum Württemberg
The Württemberg State Museum (Landesmuseum Württemberg LMW) is the largest cultural history museum in Baden-Württemberg. With the extensive collections from archaeology, art and cultural history as well as popular and everyday culture, it depicts the cultural history of Württemberg from the Stone Age to the present day. Around 180 people work in the Württemberg State Museum. We come from many different cities and countries, have a collegial working atmosphere and our hearts beat for culture.
In the Department of Art and Cultural History, a position as a part-time research assistant (m/f/d) (75%) is to be filled as soon as possible. The position is limited to the duration of a secondment until October 31, 2024.
The tasks include in particular:
- Academic supervision of the “Post-medieval paintings and sculptures, ceremonial sleighs” department, including:
- Answering subject-specific inquiries
- Supervising media inquiries in coordination with the Communications department
- Acquisition of collection items on the basis of the collection concept in coordination within the specialist department
- Visitor-oriented mediation Collection and exhibition-related content in analog and digital form
- Further development of the concept for the reinstallation of the “Baroque Sleds” collection in the Urach Residential Palace, in cooperation with the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg
- Revision of the painting collection in the depot
Your profile:
– University degree (Master/Magister) in art history (doctoral degree desired)
– Experience in museum work (traineeship desired)
– Knowledge of the art and cultural history of south-west Germany from the 16th to the early 20th century
– Experience in dealing with databases
– Above-average commitment , ability to work in a team, resilience, willingness to work and flexibility
– if hired, the submission of an impeccable certificate of good conduct according to Section 30 of the Federal Central Register Act
