basis eV is looking for a curatorial assistant starting June 15, 2022 (50%)

basis eV has been promoting and presenting international contemporary art in Frankfurt am Main since 2006. In order to initiate and further develop a large number of creative processes at the Frankfurt location, the association uses a comprehensive model of funding that consists of three main axes. These include the provision of affordable workspaces, the presentation of exhibitions and discursive events, as well as various international exchange programs for young artists.

Responsibilities:
– curatorial assistance for all event and exhibition projects, publications and accompanying programs
– assistance in press and public relations
– independent development of discursive and accompanying event programs, in particular from the context of the artists from the basis funding programs
– assistance with general organizational office work
– Participation in the organization and implementation of the funding programs (basic studio program, artists-in-residence, Hessian studio program)

The position comprises 19 hours per week and is remunerated at €1,065.00. Freelance work is possible. The position is limited to two years with an option to extend.
