LACMA Los Angeles County Museum of Art

The Conservation Center at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is seeking applications for an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in paintings conservation. The fellowship will focus on the study, examination and treatment of works of art in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Successful candidates will gain considerable experience treating works of art in well equipped, production-oriented conservation laboratories. This will be a 1 year fellowship.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conservation involvement in permanent collection exhibitions and special exhibitions will enhance training opportunities.
  • Will have the opportunity to participate in informal lectures, symposia, workshops as well as visit and collaborate with nearby cultural institutions.
  • The Conservation Fellow may act as courier for works of art on loan or exhibition to other museums and institutions.

Qualifications:

  • A degree from a recognized conservation training program with a specialization in paintings conservation
