With its high-ranking collection and lively exhibition and event activity, the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe is one of the largest art museums in Germany. It has been run as a state enterprise since 2009 and is a cultural institution of the state of Baden-Württemberg operating according to art scientific and economic principles. Due to a planned renovation and expansion, the museum is currently in a comprehensive transformation process in which the opportunities of digital change in particular are actively used. A special feature is the Junge Kunsthalle with its exhibitions specially designed for a young audience. Its predecessor, the Children’s Museum, was founded in 1973 as one of the first of its kind in Germany and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023.

The Art Education Unit offers an interesting activity as soon as possible for the 50 Years Children’s Museum project as
