Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) is committed to innovative, experimental and research-based contemporary art and curatorial practice. With a focus upon contemporary art since the 1960s, MUMA seeks to establish the museum as a dynamic site for cultural production, pedagogy and participation – through exhibitions, collection development, curatorial research, publishing, and academic and community engagement
The Opportunity
The Gallery Administrator provides wide-ranging administrative support services to the staff of the Monash University Museum of Art and MADA Gallery. The Gallery Administrator is often the first point of contact for enquiries from students, academics, professional staff and the general public – and as such plays a key role in conveying MUMA and MADA’s professional image.
The Gallery Administrator is also an integral part of the administrative team and provides a range of support services including; FOH and visitor experience, and museum and communications administrative support.
Some of the duties of this role include:
- Providing broad-based administrative support to the Gallery Manager via a range of platforms
- Providing welcoming, informative and efficient Front of House services to ensure a consistently excellent visitor experience at both MUMA and MADA Gallery
- Assisting with coordination and delivery of education, venue hire and other events
- Working with the Communications Officer to develop and deliver timely Monash internal communications plans and campaigns
