Eyebeam, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, enacts its mission of centering artists in the design of our shared future. Operating at the interaction of art, technology, and the public good, the organization provides generous support to artists and amplifies cutting-edge ideas and inventions with the public through exhibitions, talks, and shared learning. The organization’s core programs include its flagship Fellowships and Residencies, providing artists with time and support to create, grow, and distribute their work; Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism (ECFJ), which supports artist-journalist teams producing revelatory work for major media outlets; and the Digital Day Camp, an artist-led, multi-week youth technology program serving over 20 public high school students each summer.
Today, Eyebeam seeks to hire a Part-Time Editorial Fellow tasked with implementing ECFJ’s work in commissioning and publishing artist-led journalism in major media outlets.
ECFJ is a grant-making program that supports artists producing innovative and revelatory journalistic work for major media outlets.
ECFJ supports artists with research, travel, and other expenses many media outlets struggle to cover, allowing stories that are often out of reach in today’s climate to be produced.

Reporting to: Executive Director and working closely with Eyebeam’s Consulting Strategist and Manager of Programs and Inclusion
Primary Responsibilities
The part-time Editorial fellow will be successful in artists stewardship for ECFJ and will provide:
- Ongoing expansion of the program in the development of relationships to journalists and artists
- Ongoing efforts to identify potentials for Identifying and working with artists for ECFJ engagement, in partnership with major media publications, with an emphasis on the elevation of the Eyebeam brand
- Develops, executes and delivers editorial content across Eyebeam channels, working closely with the entire team as needed to achieve target goals.
- Working with artists and programmatic partners to create original content that may also serve in conjunction with ECFJ artist’s led talks for public events
- Manage content distribution for internal and external channels (Press, Website, and Social Media)
- Staying updated on trends and advising on strategy as needed for continued growth
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in writing for a leading publication or reputable organization in the Arts
- Have strong relationships within the journalistic publishing community
- Thoughtful and creative mindset, with the ability to generate and execute story ideas
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced editorial environment to meet deadlines
- Flexible, can-do attitude
Compensation:
This is a Part-time hourly, non-exempt position
The Editorial Fellow will be paid from $35 to $45 per hour, commensurate with experience (24 hours weekly, paid on a bi-weekly basis)
Part-time employees are not eligible for Healthcare Benefits; however, all staff receives Paid Time Off in accordance with the federal government’s schedule of observance. Part-time employees also receive paid vacation, personal, and refresh days.
