What you’ll be doing
Leading from the house and collections perspective in delivering Treasure House ambitions, reporting to the Property Curator. This will include improvements to the visitor offer, standards of presentation, conservation and collections management and care. Being responsible for the daily smooth-running of house team operations. This will include overall responsibility for ensuring timely and effective preventive conservation methods, environmental monitoring and auditing.
You’ll line manage the Senior Collections and House Manager (SCHO). Helping to identify collections and interiors conservation projects, managing their planning and delivery. As the Collections Management System (CMS) Inventory Owner, you will develop and implement plans to ensure information is accurate and actively managed, training team members where necessary. You will be responsible for successful house conservation team engagement opportunities.
Who we’re looking for
- An understanding of collections care and conservation
- Experience of managing historic collections and properties, including an awareness of Museum Accreditation standards
- Ability to motivate and develop a team of staff and volunteers
- Experience in the management of relevant compliance, health and safety and emergency procedures
- Business planning skills, including setting of budgets
- Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders
