Do you have experience editing, with knowledge of art, research and museum collections? Do you have management experience and enjoy mentoring others? Could you help make Tate and the stories that it tells about art and history more inclusive, representative and accessible? This is an excellent opportunity for a critically minded and experienced editor to contribute to Tate’s research programme by managing the editing and publication of a range of texts about art, ideas and practices of institutional, national and international significance.
In this fixed-term role you will oversee the smooth running of the research publishing programme by managing workflows, schedules and relationships with contributors. You will line-manage and support two other editors in the team, and work closely and collaboratively with academics, curators and researchers inside and outside the museum, editing texts for content and style and helping to prepare them for publication online.
You will be working as part of a team committed to developing anti-racist, equitable and transparent editorial practices across a range of online publishing channels, and to providing a reflective and critical space for debate within and beyond Tate. The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently and as part of a team, and will be well organised and emotionally intelligent.
Tate aims to attract and retain talented people from all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian, ethnic minority and disabled applicants as these groups are currently underrepresented in the cultural sector and at Tate.
