At the Institute for Art History at the University of Bern, the Department of History of Textile Arts. August 2023 ( or by appointment ) for a period of two years ( with the option to extend ) to fill the position of * a scientific assistant * assistant. A focus on the content of textile arts before 1800 is desired, which complements and extends the professorship in research and teaching. In addition to its own scientific further qualification, the activity includes the support of the professorship in teaching and research as well as in administrative activities.
We are looking for candidates with outstanding scientific potential who are either about to receive a doctorate or who already have an excellent doctorate. The candidate is ready to prepare a habilitation project in the field of textile arts and / or applied arts. A prerequisite for a successful application is a very good competence in the English language and another foreign language. Application deadline is 15. April 2023.
In addition to the usual application documents ( CV, possibly list of publications and courses, copies of certificates ), we ask for a brief description of the habilitation project, a trial text ( e.g. a chapter of the dissertation or an essay ) as well as two experts who can be confidentially asked for a letter of recommendation.
