
Gallery assistant
Overview: Union Pacific if seeking a Gallery Assitant to assist both Director‘s, Grace Schofield and Nigel Dunkley. Salary or freelance position depending on preference/ experience. Previous gallery experience essential.
Responsibilites:
• Keeping on top of day-to-day tasks including timely email communications, general gallery upkeep, awareness of shipping deadlines and upcoming fair applications, providing up-to-date information on press listing sites in advance of deadlines.
• Punctuality and efficiency with time-keeping. Checking in with both Directors upon each working day to make sure all outgoing tasks are covered before completion.
• Efficient managing of represented artists needs and making sure all upcoming news is updated across the website and social media accordingly.
• An aptitude for writing is encouraged as gallery press releases, introductions about artists and fair applications are regularly required.
• Coming up with new ideas for potential press outlets for exhibitions and inventing social media posts to keep the gallery feed active.
• Proficiency across Adobe software to efficiently update artist dossiers, CV’s, floor plans and press releases when needed.
• Exercising due diligence when completing steps for shipping including allocating proof of exports into the relevant files and making sure anti-money laundering needs are met.
• Ability to use Art Logic for adding contacts to the database, making private views for exhibitions/fairs, rendering invoices/ consignment documents, sending newsletter/offer mail outs.
• Reaching out to shippers and keeping on track of shipment from point of collection to delivery at final destination.
• Replenishing all active documents including service contacts, up-to-date artist addresses, global shippers, acquisitions, local contractors, subscriptions.
