Position Title: Public Art Production Coordinator
Reports To: Director
Location: Byron Bay, NSW
Part-time: 3-4 days a week
Contract Term: 1 year contract with potential for renewal
Position Description
Creative Road provides an opportunity for a creative professional to join our small, dedicated team in delivering public art strategies and public artworks in locations nationally and internationally.
Working with Creative Road’s public art curators/project managers in project delivery, the role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of project delivery including but not limited to liaising with clients, suppliers and artists, research, preparing presentations, production management including preparing budgets and timelines.
The position requires excellent communication and organisational skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Working collaboratively to tight deadlines, the role also requires a flexible approach to tasks, the ability to prioritise complex and competing responsibilities. A conscientious, efficient, and sunny disposition as well as an interest in contemporary art and working with artists are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
– Verbal and written communication with suppliers and clients, trouble shooting and anticipating potential
issues in advance
– Co-ordination of artwork fabrication and installation processes including overseeing Work Health Safety
documentation
– Preparing project timelines (MS Project)
– Preparing artwork budgets, recording, and coordinating supplier payments/quotations (MS Excel)
– Collaborating with team members to prepare artwork documentation and client presentations (Adobe
InDesign)
– Briefing suppliers such architectural renderers, photographers, and videographers
– Ensuring project related documentation is organised and saved correctly within the company cloud storage
– Ensuring contact details are added to the ACT! company database and important email/phone
communications are saved against the relevant ACT! Contact (ACT! Database training provided)
– Assisting in the preparation of potential project tenders, EOI’s and grant opportunities
– Preparing written project descriptions for the company website, social media and newsletter
– Image library management/cataloguing
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
– Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
– High-level PC computer literacy including proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
– Experience working in teams and supporting others to ensure smooth project delivery
– Demonstrated project management experience with emphasis on managing competing priorities and
planning to ensure deadlines are met
Desirable
– Knowledge of contemporary art
– Tertiary qualification in Arts Administration/Fine Arts/Architecture
– Microsoft Project software
– Understanding and reading architectural and technical documentation
