Head Librarian for Vancouver Art Gallery – Curatorial Role
Position Summary
Join the Vancouver Art Gallery as the Head Librarian for the Curatorial Department. Direct the activities of the research library and archives, contribute to the gallery’s goals of promoting knowledge and understanding of visual art, and play a pivotal role in planning for a new facility. This is a full-time excluded position.
Responsibilities
- Administer the Project
- Conduct research and supervise acquisition and digitization of archives
- Provide advice for education, curatorial, and media programs
- Liaise with external collaborators
- Collaborate with departments for public talks and exhibitions
- Develop networks in Hong Kong art history academia and art communities.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent
- At least three years’ professional experience in an art gallery/museum library
- Comprehensive knowledge of knowledge and information management
- Experience with library and archives management systems
- Proficiency in art book and archive management
- Budgeting, grant writing, and fundraising experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills
