Role Overview
The National Arts Council is seeking an experienced Manager for its Visual Arts Division. This role involves contributing to the growth and development of the Singapore Visual Arts Sector through policy formulation, strategic planning, and grants administration. As a Manager, you will engage with partners, stakeholders, and grant applicants to evaluate funding proposals, ensure good governance, and monitor adherence to funding conditions. You will also provide support to various Division initiatives, including Singapore Art Week, Public Art projects, and thought leadership efforts.
Responsibilities
As a Visual Arts Manager, reporting to the Deputy Director or Assistant Director, you will:
- Manage Funding and Grants: Support the day-to-day evaluation, monitoring, and administration of NAC’s funding and grant schemes. Collaborate with grantees to ensure project and program completion. Assist in general administration and grants-related matters.
- Information Management: Work with the team to maintain accurate records in information management systems, with a focus on privacy requirements. Contribute to regular reporting for Fund program activities.
- Support Functions: Provide effective support functions, including meeting coordination, payment tracking, invoice management, agenda organization, minutes taking, action follow-ups, and other administrative duties.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on international trends and developments to contribute ideas for program and industry development.
- Policy Formulation: Develop and formulate policies and recommendations to benefit the Visual Arts sector, such as residency program plans, strategies for growing Singapore’s commercial visual arts ecosystem, and public art initiatives.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- A good University degree, preferably in arts-related fields.
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore Visual Arts landscape (highly preferred).
- Experience in business strategies and development is advantageous.
- Proficiency in written communication.
- Ability to manage information systems and follow procedures for tracking progress.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Collaborative and proactive team player.
- Proficiency in using online systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
