FSAS (Fire Station Artists’ Studios) invites international curators to apply for residencies in 2024. Up to 6 residencies will be awarded.
Program Details
The FSAS International Curator Residencies program offers contemporary international curators the opportunity to live, work, and network in Dublin for 3-4 weeks. The residencies are planned to begin in late January/early February 2024, with potential for return visits in 2024.

Who Should Apply?
This residency is ideal for curators who:
- Work independently or with institutions.
- Can commit to a residency of up to four weeks (no less than three weeks).
- Possess a strong track record with over five years of experience.
- Are developing curatorial research/practice relationships in Dublin/Ireland.
About the Residency
Through these residencies, FSAS aims to:
- Facilitate connections between international artists, curators, and Irish counterparts.
- Enable international curators to connect with the Irish visual arts scene.
- Support research, studio visits, and participation in Dublin & Ireland’s dynamic visual arts sector.
- Encourage connections and exploration of international exhibition opportunities with Irish artists.
Resources and Support
International curators will enjoy:
- Free accommodation in a live/work studio located in Dublin’s historic north inner-city center.
- A stipend of €300 to support their stay in FSAS.
- Access to facilities, including digital media resources, AV equipment, meeting rooms, and a reading area.
- The flexibility to create their own timetable for studio visits with FSAS resident artists and other cultural practitioners.
Application Procedure
To apply, submit a short curatorial statement (1 page maximum) addressing:
- Your interest in the FSAS international curator residency.
- Your goals for the residency and how they align with your curatorial practice & research.
- Two preferred timeframes for your visit during 2024, starting from the end of January.
- A current CV (3-page max) highlighting specific projects or connections with Irish arts.
- Supporting documentation (one or two recent projects).
- A short bio (75-100 words max) and a captioned image (300dpi) for use in case you are awarded the residency.

Fire Station Artists’ Studios, located in Dublin’s northeast city center, was established in 1993 to support professional visual artists. It offers subsidized living and working studios, large-scale sculpture workshop facilities, digital media resources, and more. FSAS actively supports socially engaged arts practice and critique through commissions, talks, and publications. International curators play a vital role in fostering connections and opportunities for Irish artists through this program.
