Job Opportunity: Program Manager for Performing Arts
First Peoples Fund seeks a Program Manager for Performing Arts. This role collaborates across programs, fostering the Indigenous Arts Ecology through a national networking strategy for Native performing artists. This effort is integrated within our existing programs, catering to the diverse needs of artists in various practices. The Program Manager will drive innovation and strategy tailored to performing artists while maintaining a connection with our established programs.

Position Details
- Position Type: Full-time exempt/salary
- Minimum Salary: $60,000 annually
- Location: Rapid City, SD office or remote (occasional travel required)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight: Manage the performing arts program, including products, services, systems, and relationships.
- Collaboration: Strategize, evaluate, and enhance program design, fostering intersections between departments and programs.
- Networking: Actively engage in local, regional, and national networks, identifying partnership opportunities vital to advancing First Peoples Fund’s mission.
- Community Development: Collaborate with the Program Manager of Community Development in implementing products, services, and relationships within the Native Arts Ecology Building.
- Contractor and Trainer Management: Manage relationships with contractors and trainers, including recruitment and training.
- Culture Bearer Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with culture bearers, ensuring their input guides program design and evaluation.
- Curriculum Development: Oversee the development and implementation of specific curriculum and delivery systems for performing artists.
- Community-based Training: Acquire knowledge of our community-based products and services and become a certified trainer.
- Customer Liaison: Serve as a liaison with customers using our community-based products and services.
- Training Consultants: Manage training consultants for delivering community-based products and services.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience, with at least five years in performing arts or a related field.
- Skills: Background in community development, partnership building, and leadership cultivation. Knowledge of Native arts and culture, tribal communities, and research related to Native Art Business Models.
- Experience: Experience in grant-funded program management and strong instructional skills.
- Attributes: Effective event coordination, excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in software such as Google Drive, Basecamp, MS Office Suite, and Excel.
- Abilities: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work in a remote team, take initiative, and be self-motivated.
