Overview
The Istituto Svizzero offers annual calls for ten-month residencies running from September to July. The Roma Calling residencies are designed for artists in various disciplines, as well as researchers and doctoral/post-doctoral students from diverse scientific backgrounds.
Residency Options
Starting from the academic year 2021/2022, the Istituto Svizzero introduced a new five-month Roma Calling residency program, specifically for researchers with strong ties to the city of Rome. This shorter program accommodates research projects that can be completed within this timeframe.
Participation Requirements
Residents are expected to engage in the Institute’s transdisciplinary project. This program, spanning about twenty days throughout the year, is customized to align with the selected residents’ interests. It includes events, study trips, and workshops with established researchers and artists.
Fostering Collaboration
This multidisciplinary approach encourages ongoing research and facilitates networking. It aims to promote active exchanges between scientific and artistic disciplines.
Eligibility
The call is open to Swiss citizens, residents, and individuals with strong connections to the Swiss scientific and cultural community.
Application Process
Candidates are required to present a personal research project that necessitates or benefits from a stay in Rome and aligns with interdisciplinary collaboration between art and science.
