About the Position
This position is funded by the TD Bank Group’s TD Ready Commitment and aims to support early-career artist-educators who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Colour (BIPOC). “Early-career” refers to individuals within seven years of graduating from a relevant program, including those still in training. An “artist-educator” is someone practicing or aspiring to practice art and is keen to share their artistic knowledge in an educational setting. This role supplements the candidate’s artistic practice with part-time work.
Role Description
The facilitator is responsible for delivering TD Educational Coordinator’s programs, offering feedback based on in-session experience, and collaborating to enhance the educational programs. This role includes working with children, requiring the successful candidate to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search or share a recently completed PIC (completed within the last six months).
The candidate must also provide evidence of current first aid training or undertake training within the first 30 days of the job.

Job Description
As an Educational Program Facilitator, you will work under the direction of the TD Educational Coordinator and the support of the Curatorial Department. Your responsibilities include delivering inclusive, age-appropriate arts-focused learning programs and activities at no cost to participants.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the concepts and themes in Contemporary Calgary’s exhibitions
- Conduct educational art sessions with up to 30 students
- Assist with program research and development
- Evaluate and adjust educational programming
- Assist in program coordination and scheduling
- Manage art supplies and track program attendance
- Collaborate with the team to plan, evaluate, and improve programs
- Participate in program setup and maintenance
- Occasionally assist in the development and delivery of adult programs
- Act as an ambassador for Contemporary Calgary

- Works well in a team and independently
- Is comfortable with public speaking and conversation
- Has non-profit sector experience
- Is creative, innovative, and enthusiastic
- Possesses excellent communication and organizational skills
- Is dependable, punctual, and flexible
- Is willing to work on weekends and evenings as needed
- Has the ability to travel within Calgary and provide transportation (preferred but not required)
