Join the (A)WAKE team from Rotterdam for an exciting 3-day artistic program taking place at Le 18 in Marrakech on December 8, 9, and 10. This unique program is designed for professionals living in Morocco, including designers, artists, cultural workers, and entrepreneurs. It offers a platform for knowledge-sharing, workshops, and presentations in the fields of digital culture and social design.
The Focus:
The primary goal of this program is to create new models and platforms that strengthen connections between local creative talents and those within the diaspora community. Titled ‘Jossour: Transnational Marketplace,’ this event aims to bring together artists, thinkers, and cultural workers from all over Morocco, fostering an environment for diverse experiences and disciplines to intersect.
Program Highlights:
- Day 1 (Friday, December 8):
- Introduction by (A)WAKE
- Try-out by Swarm at LE 18
- Day 2 (Saturday, December 9):
- Knowledge-sharing session on Speculative and Critical Design
- Hands-on workshops for practice-sharing, conceptualization, making, and producing
- Day 3 (Sunday, December 10):
- Continuation of workshops and group-working sessions
- Final presentations

The (A)WAKE initiative is driven by a commitment to explore the emancipatory potential of the digital world, aiming for equal access and mutual cultural exchange between West Asia and North Africa (WANA) and West Europe. Focusing on these two regions, the organization seeks creative and critical approaches to challenge prevailing North-South power dynamics through art and digital culture.
