Overview
Asia Art Archive (AAA), an independent non-profit founded in 2000, seeks a dedicated Curatorial & Learning Project Assistant for a 1.5-year contract as part of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Arts Talents Internship Matching Programme (ATIMP).
Responsibilities
- Exhibitions and Programmes:
- Assist in planning and producing AAA library exhibitions, Art Basel booth, and public programs.
- Coordinate logistics, provide on-site support, and engage with audience members.
- Research and Collections:
- Support research for the presentation and interpretation of AAA Collections.
- Educational Initiatives:
- Assist in planning and executing educational programs for teachers and artist-educators.
- Design and facilitate school group visits, employing innovative learning methodologies.
- Online Resources:
- Contribute to the development of online educational resources and archival toolboxes.
- Empower young audiences to explore Hong Kong’s art histories through primary source materials.
Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Permanent residents of Hong Kong, aged 18 or above.
- Graduated from higher education institutes within the last three years.
- Skills and Traits:
- Curiosity and genuine interest in contemporary art and culture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of social media; basic video editing skills are advantageous.
- Degree in art history, fine arts, cultural studies, art education, or related discipline is advantageous.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend programs.
