The Center for Book Arts (CBA) invites researchers and scholars from various fields, including art history, literature, book history, library science, museum studies, and conservation studies, to apply for the Book Art Research Fellowship.
CBA’s Permanent Collection
CBA’s collection is a rich resource for research and includes:
- Fine Arts Collection: Artists’ books, prints, and objects.
- Reference Library: Focuses on the practice, theory, and history of book arts.
- CBA’s Archives: Original exhibitions presented at CBA and the history of its programmatic activities.
This collection serves as a historical record of book art and a foundation for critical research.
Fellowship Benefits and Responsibilities
- Access: Fellows will have access to CBA’s collections.
- Support: Institutional support during the research process.
- Stipend: A $1,200 stipend is provided.
- Research Duration: 2-3 weeks of on-site research at CBA in 2024, excluding holidays and closures.
- Presentation: Fellows will present their research in a public talk.
- Publication Opportunity: CBA has the first right of refusal to publish the research in the Book Art Review journal.
