CA2M Museum
The Community of Madrid announces the selection process for the vacant Director position at the CA2M Center for Art Museum, as published in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid. The deadline for applications is twenty working days from the announcement’s publication in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid (Published in the BOCM on December 4, 2023).
The Director’s role includes, among other functions:
- Representing the Museum institutionally in dealings with all stakeholders, including other national and foreign museums, various public administrations, and the artistic and educational community.
- Proposing and managing new additions to the CA2M Museum Collection within the framework of the Acquisitions Committee.
- Overseeing the Museum’s administration and its assigned staff.
- Managing the collection.
Specific merits to be considered for this selection process:
- Verifiable professional experience in areas related to social sciences, humanities, fine arts, or art history. This includes high-responsibility positions in directing and/or managing public or private contemporary art museums or collections, with a special focus on Spanish and Latin American art.
- Candidates’ professional background: academic training, research conducted, exhibitions curated, and published texts, among others.
- Candidates’ recognition at national and international levels.
- The quality of the submitted project that highlights knowledge of CA2M Museum’s programming lines since its inception, and its collections, prioritizing a program that expands and diversifies the Museum’s past years’ activities and gives prominence to the audience’s role, as well as the proposal for the Museum’s collection growth.
- Proficiency in English.
A valuation committee will be established for this purpose, consisting of renowned specialists and representatives from prominent institutions in the contemporary art sector. The committee members will be appointed by order of the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, and their composition will be published on the Community of Madrid’s website and on the CA2M Center for Art Museum’s website.
