Job Description Para Site, a leading contemporary art space in Hong Kong since 1996, is seeking a dynamic Development Manager. This role is a unique opportunity to influence Para Site’s future as an independent organization. The Development Manager will actively participate in and contribute to the institution’s progressive vision. Key responsibilities include spearheading fundraising initiatives, managing high-profile events like the Annual Gala and Fundraising Auction, and fostering relationships with donors, trusts, grant-making bodies, and corporate partners.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director to explore new fundraising avenues, both locally and internationally.
- Work with the Curatorial Team to find funding and collaborative opportunities.
- Manage grant applications and philanthropic initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Deputy Director in the Patron Programme, including organizing patron events.
- Plan and execute high-profile fundraising events.
- Develop relationships with potential supporters and funding bodies.
- Enhance donor relations and manage the donation process.
- Produce reports for donors, partners, and grants.
- Coordinate with the Deputy Director and Gallery Manager for financial reporting.
- Prepare fundraising materials to align with institutional messages.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in arts, event management, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in fundraising and event coordination.
- Proficiency in English and Cantonese, Mandarin is a plus.
- Strong writing, editing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of public and private sector fundraising.
- Interest in Hong Kong and international arts and culture.
- Skills in time management and teamwork.
- Familiarity with data management systems like eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge, or Salesforce.
