GUIDELINES:
ArtsEquator welcomes applications for the ArtsEquator Fellowship from Southeast Asia. This professional development program targets mid-career arts critics and journalists. It focuses on creating critical content about the arts in the region.
The program runs remotely from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2024, without requiring travel. Participants receive a SGD5,000 stipend for the duration.
APPLICATION FORM:
Eligibility extends to critics and arts journalists from Southeast Asia. The fellowship seeks individuals eager to represent their communities. It encourages highlighting local artistic endeavors, delving into seldom-discussed topics, and connecting with the broader Southeast Asian arts network.
The 2024 cycle emphasizes theatre, dance, and film. Fellows are expected to produce five reviews in various formats and one detailed essay. The content should provide insights into the arts within their countries.
Applicants must suggest six potential topics, events, performances, videos, or films for coverage during the fellowship. They should also specify their intended publication or distribution channels. These could include websites, social media, newsletters, podcasts, or video channels, aiming to reach both local and wider audiences.
2023 FELLOWSHIP CYCLE:
The selection process will admit no more than seven fellows. Shortlisted candidates might undergo further interviews. Applications open on 17 February 2024 and close on 15 April 2024, at 11.59 PM Singapore time.
