CAC / AIR 351 GRANT 2024
AiR 351, in partnership with the Municipality of Torres Vedras, invites applications for the art residency program at the Centro de Artes e Criatividade (CAC). This program, similar to the successful model in Cascais, aims to integrate artists and curators into the local community while fostering connections with regional and international partners.
Eligibility: Open to artists and curators from all countries and at any career stage, except for those who have previously participated in AiR 351 programs.
Selection Criteria: Considers the quality of work, potential impact of the residency, and the applicant’s ability to benefit from time spent in Torres Vedras.
GENERAL PROGRAM DETAILS
AiR 351 is an esteemed international visual arts residency program founded in 2016, based in Cascais, Lisbon region. The program emphasizes collaboration, offering personalized support through a team that works closely with residents. Activities span various contexts, including museums, universities, and art schools, thanks to institutional partnerships.
Residency Features:
- Access to an individual studio at CAC’s headquarters (approx. 30 sq. meters).
- A rich program including integration into the local artistic scene, technical and curatorial support, networking opportunities, studio visits, and the organization of open studios, public presentations, and an annual exhibition.
- Residency duration: Minimum of 3 months for artists and 1 month for curators.
- Program Fee: 500 euros, covering accommodation and full access to the program.
GRANT OPPORTUNITY
Introducing a new grant for an artist or curator in residence at CAC’s headquarters in Torres Vedras, to be held during 2024. This inaugural grant supports a 3-month residency.
Grant Benefits:
- A monthly stipend of 1100 euros for living expenses.
- Accommodation within a 2-minute walk from CAC.
- Waived membership fees for AiR 351 during the residency period.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Submit a single document (max 10 MB) containing:
- Personal information and contact details.
- A motivation letter (max 500 words) detailing current artistic practice, objectives, and expected outcomes of the residency.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Portfolio.
- Up to three optional letters of recommendation.

Important Notes:
- Applications and all related materials must be in English.
- Only digital submissions are accepted.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Applicants must not be engaged in another residency during the same timeframe.
- A report detailing residency activities is due within one month of completion.

SELECTION COMMITTEE
