Role Overview
The Senior Curator will:
- Curate collections and exhibitions of contemporary art from Singapore, the region, and the globe, enhancing art scholarship.
- Specialize in research areas to guide the museum’s collection, publication, and exhibition strategies.
- Mentor and lead junior curators in exhibition planning, execution, and professional growth.
- Exhibit thought leadership by participating in conferences, talks, and publications.
- Engage in strategic planning and management at various organizational levels.
- Organize exhibitions and programs, from concept to coordination, including negotiations and collaborations with external entities.
- Collaborate with museum colleagues on educational programs and produce content for promotional materials.
- Network with the arts and cultural community, collectors, and partners.
- Oversee project management and administrative tasks within assigned areas.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, such as policy development and cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
- A post-graduate degree in art history or a related field.
- Around ten years of relevant curatorial experience, preferably in museums.
- A deep understanding and passion for contemporary art.
- Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English, with additional languages being an advantage.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire team members.
- A keen interest in contributing to the museum’s strategic goals.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
