Introduction Mesh Festival is an annual event celebrating digital art and technology in Basel, Switzerland, from 16 – 20 October 2024. It gathers international artists, cultural practitioners, and technologists to explore the societal impacts of new technological developments. The festival features visual arts, audio-visual performances, talks, workshops, and concerts. The complete festival program will be announced in August 2024.
Conference Overview A two-day art and tech conference will be held during the festival on 17 – 18 October 2024. This conference encourages engineers, creative technologists, artists, designers, and researchers to discuss their collaborative work. Supported by Derivative, the company behind TouchDesigner, this conference aims to foster future-oriented debates.
Call for Conference Presenters Mesh Festival invites the global art and tech community to submit proposals for presentations and workshops. Proposals are welcome from all technology fields, with a special invitation to the TouchDesigner community.
Themes for Proposals
- Tooling the Future: Focuses on creating or redefining tools for a positive future. Emphasizes critical access tools, immersive experiences, empowering computational practices, and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Collaboration: Explores the outcomes of interdisciplinary collaborations. Discusses the impact of technology on art and vice versa, co-authorship, and innovative approaches through collective artistic creation.

Application Process

Selection and Notification
- Proposals will be evaluated by the conference selection team, which seeks bold, experimental, and fresh ideas.
- Selected applicants will be notified by 31 July 2024.
- Note: Submitting a proposal does not guarantee participation.
