Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with institutions and partners.
- Oversee new commissions (films, sculptures, textiles, public artworks).
- Fundraise and write funding bids.
- Write, edit, and proofread various documents.
- Handle communications, website updates, and quarterly newsletters.
- Develop public programs with partners.
- Conduct exhibition research, planning, and project management.
- Manage the Leviathan project on climate change, migration, and mental health themes.
Essential Requirements:
- MA in Visual Arts (preferably in curating or history of art).
- 2+ years of professional experience in visual arts.
- Proven project management experience for exhibitions, artist commissions, and events.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong team player and independent worker.
- Expertise in managing budgets and processing invoices.
- Fundraising and writing funding bids experience.
- Contract management experience.
- Collaboration skills with various external colleagues and contractors.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience managing publications and public programs.
- Excellent verbal communication and a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient IT skills (Microsoft, Apple, Google Suites, website updates).
Desirable Skills:
- Strong art world network.
- Interest in ecology and architecture.
- Experience commissioning and editing academic texts.
- Strategic partnership thinking.
- Skills in Photoshop, InDesign, 3D modeling, and film editing.
- Social media experience.
Job Details:
- Full time, 10am-6pm.
- Salary: £28,000-30,000.
- Ideal start date: August 2024.
- Location: East London studio.
