Job Description
Role Overview: The Tucson Museum of Art is seeking an experienced and visionary Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. This position involves leading the museum’s program in modern and contemporary art. Responsibilities include managing collections, organizing exhibitions, and contributing to the museum’s strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the museum’s collections and activities related to modern and contemporary art.
- Curate and organize exhibitions that challenge traditional artistic discourse and introduce new perspectives.
- Collaborate with other museum staff and external partners to enhance the museum’s offerings.
- Engage with the community and foster connections through various programs and initiatives.
- Secure funding and support for exhibitions and programs through grants and donor relations.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in modern and contemporary art.
- Proven track record of curating exhibitions and managing art collections.
- Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
